Fun Works
Home - Preparing for Fun Works

Before you Arrive

You will be asked to complete an Attendance Form for your child. These forms contain all of the vital information for safety and welfare including all of the emergency contact information and medical details.

We are required to keep a record of any medication administered to children whilst attending Fun Works. You must inform us clearly if medication is required to be given. The Attendance Form is used to record medication administered e.g. Antibiotics or Inhaler. The Parent/Carer needs to sign the form giving his/her permission for a staff member to administer the medicine.

If your child may have need of an epi-pen you must indicate this on the Attendance Form in the medical section of the form. You must also speak with Fun Works Staff about the condition. We will need written permission from the parent allowing us to administer treatment in an emergency.

On the Day

On the first day of the club you will need to arrive 15 minutes early so that we can sort out any last minute question you may have and to make sure we have all the forms correctly filled in.

When the  parent/carers drop off their child they will need to sign  the register and inform us on whether another adult will be picking the child up. Children must be signed out by their collecting adult, recording the time of departure so that we are aware that the child has left and who they have gone with. The specified adult must provide their ID on collection.

We provide a mid morning snack consisting of a juice and a healthy bite (e.g. piece of fruit or raisins). The children will need to bring a pack lunch with them that is clearly labelled with their name on.

It is our policy that no products containing nuts are allowed in order to help us avoid any unforeseen problems with allergies.

We cannot guarantee the return of lost property, but we endeavour to return items that are clearly labelled (i.e. cloths/coats) with your child’s full name.

All children under the age of 5 are not legally allowed to attend longer than 4 hours. Therefore we would require that the child is either dropped off an hour later at 11am or picked up an hour earlier at 2pm.

Uncollected Child

Should this occur then the following action will be taken:

• We will attempt to contact you using the child details information.
• At least two adults will remain with the child until collected.
• We will not allow the child to return home alone or with an unauthorised adult unless we have  your permission.
• If after two hours no one arrives to collect the child and we have been unable to contact anyone by telephone, we will call the local social services department who will make arrangements for a  social worker to collect the child.

Contacting Parents or Carers

Parents will be contacted under the following circumstances:

• Serious injury such as a broken or suspicion of broken bone.
• If the child is unable to participate due to serious illness or a toilet accident.
• If a child is seriously upset about being on camp.
• Bang to head that may result in concussion.
• Any situation resulting in a hospital visit.
• Serious behaviour problem.
• If the child is found not to have brought food/ drink.
